This year May 29th not only marks the Sunday of Memorial Day weekend, but also National 529 College Savings Day.

Across the nation, events will be taking place with the goal of raising awareness about the many benefits of 529 plans and the importance of planning ahead for higher education expenses.

529 plans have been very successful in helping families save for higher education and we expect ABLE plans to have the same successes. ABLE programs are modeled from 529 accounts and therefore drive home the same primary messages we’ll be spreading on National 529 Day: start saving, save early and save often. Even a little saved up can go a long way to pay for current or future disability-related expenses and achieving a better life.

We have long worked to offer families a great option to save for college. Now, we’re bringing that same knowledge, experience and white-glove service as we get set to launch the Enable Savings Plan —just one short month after National 529 College Savings Day. That’s double the reason to celebrate!

Happy 529 Day to all, and remember the Enable Savings Plan will be available nationwide on June 30!
